Interactive Movie Poster: Gamer

It was only a matter of time before the trend took off, see below.

I first saw this done about six months ago for the Terminator: Salvation movie poster where I wrote an article about it here. The idea of using flash to give still photographs an extra punch isn't all that new, banner ads do it all the time. But it's never been done like this. Never on a full scale movie poster. I guess the reason why is that the technology wasn't there before, but that looks as though it's about to change.

What this might mean for to us down the road is instead of waking by the typical posters in the hallway of your local movie theater. You'll see vertical LCD screens containing movie posters that will animate or perhaps even interact with you as you walk by. Imagine what the original Alien poster would of looked like if you had seen the Alien face-hugger silhouetted inside the pod and and moving in the direction of passers by while you were getting your popcorn? Very Minority Report!

The possibilities of this are amazing and completly overwhelming! But what I really like the most is that it breaks down the third wall and opens up a new conversation to consumers that are looking for that individual tie in to the movie they might want to see.

We've all had one...Hangover!

I know nothing about this film and tell you the truth that's exactly how I want it. The trailer show's me just enough to love love everything about it. Three guys loose the groom and wake up the next day with a baby, tiger, a chicken and Mike Tyson and thats just the start!

We've all had one of those nights before where things just get crazier and crazier. Well add Vegas in to the mix and anything possible! I love this poster with Mike Tyson, it's absurd, crazy and brilliant. They don't show any headliners and to be honest I don't want to know who's in it, I don't care! Just please don't let me down, give me rediculous!

3 Designers Do the Impossible

I ran across this video using Stumble Upon, check it out it's absolutely amazing.

It's one of those things that in this day and age seems possible, but who does it? Neil Wilson, Steve Flynn and Colin Thornton that's who. I wasn't able to find out anything more about these guys. The video was used for a BBC tv series, Timewatch and they used it to tell the true story Bloody Omaha, got love the British, brilliant storytelling.

As you saw in the video they recreated everything, including going to the actual Normandy location! It just goes to show you what's possible with no budget; good planning and professional workmanship.
